ACTIVESYMBOLS CHOOSES NEXTCODE CORPORATION’S CONNEXTO SOLUTION FOR NEW EZCARD APPLICATION

Scanning solution eliminates time waste and errors of manual business card updates

Las Vegas, Nev. CTIA 2006 - April 6, 2006 - - Nextcode Corporation (www.nextcodecorp.com), a leader in optical barcode solutions for camera phones, today announced that ActiveSymbols, a Logicalis Company, will integrate Nextcode’s ConnexTo™ Enterprise Edition solution into its new ezCard application. Nextcode is demonstrating ConnexTo in the Logicalis booth here at the CTIA Wireless 2006 show, April 5-7.

“With ConnexTo and ezCard, camera phone users simply take a photo of a business card in order to scan in the information,” said ActiveSymbols President, Jeff Reed. “As a result, they don’t have to waste time typing in contact info, and there’s no risk of a typo.”
“Our relationship with Logicalis is the latest example of ConnexTo’s momentum in the enterprise market,” said Jim Levinger, CEO of Nextcode. “By leveraging low-cost, widely available camera phones, ConnexTo is helping business users focus on business instead of wasting time on mundane tasks that don’t generate revenue.”
ConnexTo Enterprise Edition is a software suite that eliminates the need for expensive, bulky, dedicated industrial scanners by adding powerful business capabilities to standard camera phones. The technology enables standard camera phones to easily read codes in real-world conditions, regardless of environmental factors such as shadows and poor lighting. ConnexTo doesn’t require special optics or image resolution, so it implementation doesn’t require additional hardware or handset retooling. With ConnexTo, enterprises and software developers can integrate code scanning into custom handset applications such as inventory management, time tracking, logistics, project management, courier services, sales and ordering.

Besides supporting traditional barcode formats, ConnexTo also works with Nextcode’s patent-pending mCode™ technology, an advanced barcode format specifically designed for camera phone applications. mCode’s key features include flexible code formats with thousands of code sizes and shapes, dynamic on-screen code generation and support for embedded graphics. In the consumer market, mCode and the ConnexTo.com service are already used to create and read 2D barcodes that provide fast, convenient access to WAP addresses, SMS messages, contact information and auto-dial phone numbers.
